Yes, Dallas does Sushi!

Okay, so I’m originally from Florida, where seafood is always the first option. We get some of the freshest fish right down the street from where we dine, so you know the sushi is bomb!  It dawned on me when I was all settled into my house and got a sushi craving…there is no body of water to get my sushi fix. But to my surprise Dallas really did there best when creating a sushi culture, and while Dallas is no LA or New York, there are still some pretty damn good sushi places that import their fish in daily.

Deep Sushi

Located in the heart of Deep Ellum, Deep Sushi is one of my favorite spots. With weekly sushi specials, and a full liquor bar ya can’t go wrong! Outside patio, and modern art covering the walls, this makes for a great lunch spot or fun date night!

Pok the Raw bar

In case your not familiar with what poke is (or living under a rock) it is raw fish marinated and served as an appetizer in Hawaiian cuisine(sometimes a main dish) Think Chipotle, but for sushi. You pick your base (rice, bamboo rice noodles, kale) and then you add your toppings (yellow tail, tuna, salmon, tofu), or choose from pre-made bowls. ( My favorite is the spicy ponzu tuna) Super chic, fast casual spot, with a patio serving poke bowls, sushi, sashimi, matcha, and sake!!!

Yutaka

Trendy uptown sushi spot, named after sushi chef Yutaka Yamato is attentive and creative with his craft. Small charming restaurant, with small plates to share. One of my favorite lunch spots!

Uchi

Founder Tyson Cole, and local Dallas celebrity created yet another trendy concept. Uchi’s sushi creations are unique, with almost every dish paired fish with a fruit and is changed seasonly. This is the go to date night spot for sure!

Nobu

Headquarters in New York, so you know they know a thing or two about sushi. This particular location is discreet, yet trendy, with new wave Japanese Peruvian dishes. Great service with a knowledgeable staff, upbeat music, and comfortable seating. Defiantly a great place to celebrate, go on a date, or just feel like treating yourself! ( Check out Groupon they always have deals)
