Moxie’s: Master of Vibes

What exactly is the definition of upper-end casual? Moxie’s.

When I first read their description (to figure out what to wear, of course) it left me completely dumbfounded. Could I wear sneakers without feeling out of place? And if I did wear sneakers, should I make sure it was with a dress?

I figured I’d play it safe and go for lunch to catch the vibe of this place. And as much as I hate to admit it, they were pretty spot-on with their “upper-end casual” description. Not only was it true of the atmosphere, but of the menu as well: Everything from burgers and sandwiches to an Asian-style curry (my current favorite).

Moxie’s is a successfulchain in Canada, and the owner of the Dallas Stars thought it was only right to bring his first chain in America to Dallas, its 65th location. And boy are we glad! Sitting on a huge corner lot in the heart of Uptown, Moxie’s holds about 200 people inside and 200 people on the outside patio, complete with a fire pit and a separate outside bar. With tons of TVs, inside and out, great specials and ALWAYS bustling with people, this is the trending spot in Dallas right now.

Moxie’s serves lunch, dinner, happy hour, and a late-night menu seven days a week, as well as a weekend brunch (duh). Hold your business meeting for a different spot; this is definitely a girls’ night kinda place.
