Fasten Your “Safe” Belt

Back in the early 2000’s I underwent a couple MAJOR different fashion phases. There was the “babyphat” phase, the sweat pants phase, and the one that lasted the longest was my “punk rocker” phase, I even went as far as learning how to skateboard (not very well I might add). During this phase of mine I picked up this old American Airlines seatbelt from a yard for $3, not knowing what the heck I was going to use it for. I brought it home to show my mom (whom, by the way was completely over my phase) and she made a joke and asked me if I bought it to hold my pants up. BRILLIANT MOM! I hadn’t even thought of that. Anyways this accessory was my favorite ever and always got tons of compliments on it. (of course I dazzled it up and made it my own) Here we are 2018, and the seatbelt is back and looking way better than my American Airlines belt. This trend is definitely a love or hate kinda trend. It’s a really easy accessory to add some “cool” factor to any look. Off White has really taken the lead on this trend making their industrial design similar to straps and harness. There are many ways to wear this look but here is a glimpse at some of my favorites!
